Randy and his wife Deb live near Marana, Arizona. He holds a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology. Randy has twice been Rotary District 5500 Assistant Governor, Club President and has chaired nearly all of the committees in the Marana Rotary Club. He will be governor of Rotary District 5500 in 2012-2013.
Mr. Brooks is the vice president of the Alzheimer's Research and Prevention Foundation and presents information about the ARPF programs throughout the country and the world.
He and his wife have hosted several Rotary Youth Exchange students from Brazil, Germany, and Peru. Currently, Randy is the Chair of the Group Study Exchange and was a team leader of the GSE team to South Africa in 2009. He has attended the International Rotary Conventions in Copenhagen, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, Montreal, and France, and attended the Rotary Day at the United Nations.
Randy has traveled to South Africa, Zimbabwe, Brazil, and Peru to review and support various Rotary Foundation projects, such as water, food, literacy, and health projects. He returned to Brazil in 2010 to volunteer at shelters for abused women and for those suffering from post-traumatic stress, and participate in literacy programs. During this trip, he also taught at two universities in Natal, Brazil.
He is also directly involved in volunteer work for the Town of Marana, Arizona in the community beautification, Marana Healthcare and literacy projects for its Unified School District, and preparing meals for the Ronald McDonald House.
Randy is retired from Jorgensen/Brooks Group Employee Assistance Programs, and is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.
